Did You Know...
. . .that Cagles Mill Dam prevented more than $16 million in damages during the June flooding in the Midwest? The dam was the first flood control dam built in the state of Indiana. Completed in 1953 at a cost of $4.5 million, the dam is an earth and rock fill dam with a maximum height of 150 feet. The Corps of Engineers designed, built and operates the project in the Eel and White River watershed, which forms an integral unit of the comprehensive flood control plan for the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
Cagles Mill Lake also serves as a popular recreation area.
